If art serves as the window on the soul of society, you will get a liberal dose of what’s shaping Singapore and the region.
Artfully blinking awake the SG 50 celebrations, the Prudential Eye Awards will bring award-winning talent to the ArtScience Museum while showcasing what is coursing through the minds and media that encompass the art world.
The annual awards focus on emerging artists from across Greater Asia, who will vie for honours in six categories — digital/video, drawing, installation, painting, photography and sculpture. The shortlisted talent hails from 10 countries, including Japan, Turkey, Singapore, India, Australia, Chinese Taipei, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia and Cambodia.
The shortlisted works will be on show at the ArtScience Museum from 17 January to 31 March, 2015.
Works by 17 local artists will be exhibited at the Prudential Singapore Eye, which is the first major exhibition dedicated to the Republic’s contempoarary art scene. Selected from 110 submissions, the art reflects the local contemporary scene, as portrayed by the likes of Charles Lim, Ho Tzu Nyen, Jane Lee and Jeremy Sharma, who have also taken their art internationally.
Their works will be on show at the ArtScience Museum from 17 January to mid-May 2015.
